Water Supply — Pipe Solutions

Municipal & rural drinking water networks

Application Overview

How Almax pipes serve water supply

Almax HDPE and PVC pipes power municipal and rural drinking water supply networks across India — including Jal Jeevan Mission village connections, PHED distribution mains and city-scale water utility upgrades. Our pipes are BIS-certified to IS 4984:2016 and IS 4985 with proven leak-proof performance over 50-year design lives.

India's drinking-water infrastructure is being rebuilt at unprecedented scale. Under Jal Jeevan Mission alone, over 15 crore rural households are being connected to piped supply. State PHEDs, urban water utilities and CPHEEO-guided smart-city missions all specify BIS-compliant polymer pipe as the material of choice — because HDPE and uPVC don't rust, don't scale, don't leach, and last 50+ years buried underground. Almax has supplied to JJM programs across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand, with third-party inspection by CIPET, RITES, SGS, PDIL and Crown Agents.

Why Almax
  • Zero corrosion, zero scaling
  • Fusion-welded leak-proof joints
  • IS 4984:2016 & IS 4985 compliant
  • 50+ years design service life
Key Applications

Where Almax pipes are deployed

Proven use-cases across water supply — supplied with full BIS documentation and third-party inspection support.

1

JJM Village Piped Water

HDPE PE 100 pipes (20 mm–110 mm OD, PN 6–PN 10) for household service connections, village overhead-tank feeder lines and cluster distribution networks under Jal Jeevan Mission.

2

PHED Rural Distribution Mains

Larger-diameter HDPE (110–400 mm OD) and uPVC pipes for rural distribution networks, gravity mains from ESRs, and multi-village schemes.

3

Urban Water Utility Upgrades

HDPE trunk mains for smart-city water networks, replacing legacy CI/GI pipe. Fusion-welded joints eliminate NRW (Non-Revenue Water) losses at joints.

4

Overhead Tank Feeders & Distribution

BIS-marked HDPE and uPVC pipes for OHT feeders, pump discharge lines and building service connections — carrying potable water without leaching or bio-fouling.

Frequently Asked

Questions from procurement & engineering teams

Which pipes are BIS-certified for Jal Jeevan Mission?+

HDPE pipes to IS 4984:2016 (sizes 20 mm–400 mm OD, PN 6 to PN 16) and uPVC pipes to IS 4985 are the two BIS standards specified across most JJM tenders. Almax holds live BIS licences for both and provides the licence number on every dispatch document.

Can Almax supply pipes for state PHED tenders across North India?+

Yes. We regularly supply to state PHEDs in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir and Bihar via road and rail dispatch from our Sonipat (Haryana) facility. LC-backed staggered dispatch is standard for large tenders.

Are your pipes suitable for drinking-water contact?+

Yes. Our HDPE pipes use PE 100 potable-water grade compound and comply with IS 4984 quality-of-water requirements. uPVC pipes are lead-free and stabiliser-safe per IS 4985 amendment.

What is the design life of Almax HDPE water pipes?+

HDPE pipes to IS 4984:2016 (PE 100 grade) are designed for a 50-year continuous-service life at nameplate pressure and 20°C reference temperature. Actual field service often exceeds this in buried, thermally-stable installations.
