Sewerage & Drainage — Pipe Solutions
DWC pipes for stormwater & sewer lines
How Almax pipes serve sewerage & drainage
HDPE DWC (Double Wall Corrugated) pipes from Almax are engineered for underground sewerage, stormwater and industrial effluent networks. High ring stiffness (SN 4 / SN 8), smooth inner bore and gasketed joints deliver long-term performance.
Urban India generates over 72 billion litres per day of sewage — much of it flowing through legacy RCC and stoneware pipes that crack, root-block and leak. HDPE DWC (Double Wall Corrugated) pipes to IS 16098 are the modern replacement: lightweight (1/8th the mass of RCC), rubber-gasket sealed, root-resistant, chemically inert to sewer gases, and structurally superior thanks to their corrugated profile. Almax supplies DWC pipes for municipal sewer networks, industrial ETP outfalls, highway drainage and smart-city stormwater systems.

Where Almax pipes are deployed
Proven use-cases across sewerage & drainage — supplied with full BIS documentation and third-party inspection support.
Municipal Sewer Networks
HDPE DWC SN 4 / SN 8 pipes 200 mm–1000 mm ID for gravity sewer mains, ULB house-connection collectors and ETP outfalls.
Stormwater Drainage
DWC pipes for road-side and colony stormwater drains, cross-culverts, and rainwater-harvesting collection to recharge structures.
Industrial Effluent Networks
DWC pipes for internal effluent collection at chemical/textile/food-processing plants, ETP feeder lines and treated-effluent discharge.
Smart-City Utility Drainage
DWC pipes forming part of multi-utility trench (MUT) systems — protected against back-flow, corrosion and rat/root infiltration.

Questions from procurement & engineering teams
What is the difference between SN 4 and SN 8 DWC pipes?+
SN stands for Stiffness Number (ring stiffness in kN/m²). SN 4 is used for shallow buried service under pedestrian and light-vehicle loading. SN 8 is used for deeper burial or under highway/heavy-vehicle loading. Both conform to IS 16098-2.
Are DWC pipes truly leak-proof at joints?+
Yes, when installed correctly. DWC pipes use socket-and-spigot joints with pre-fitted EPDM rubber gaskets — the gasket compresses on assembly and forms a permanent leak-proof seal. Field pressure-testable per IS 16098.
What sizes and colours are available?+
DWC pipes 75 mm–1000 mm internal diameter. Black exterior (standard, UV-stable) with either black or bright-yellow interior (for CCTV inspection contrast). Custom colours for utility differentiation on request.
